Tertiarization Contribution to Cities Dynamics. Study Case: Bab Ezzouar, Algiers

This article presents a study on the tertiarization phenomenon of Algerian cities built after independence, to provide adequate housing and access better living conditions. To be more effective in our research, we selected as case municipality Bab Ezzouar. Ezzouar is city during seventies receive eastern extension capital Algiers through mass habitat-production project – but had been for long time dormitory suburb-. Today, with increase supply services consequently population, this hosts business district capital. Its new economic tendences are reflected by intense development number enterprises located at its level. They rose from 334 2000 2,631 2019, then 2,803 2021. In other terms, an estimated growth 839%. Our main objectives research are: a) measure how contributed create dynamics area strong impact competitivity, attractiveness quality living, b) understand if requalification environment resulted urban phenomenon, such gentrification process area. achieve proposed objectives, defined methodology which comprehends: literature review about topics, data collection different trends aspects, interviews municipal decision-makers, population questionnaires; space syntax, dynamics, gentrification, perspectives city.
